What happens in Phase II ?"Structural Stability" is the key to this phase of the renovations to the museum. The main phases of this part of the project are: > Reinforcement of the floor joist on the first floor. > Install a reinforced concrete beam around the perimeter of the building. > Install a series of helical piers and attach them to the new concrete beam. > Excavate under the original footer so the piers support the home. > Install a French drain at the level of the original footers and a sump pump drainage system.
The beam and helical piers will not be used to "level" the building, only to stabilize the building to prevent further shifting and cracking of the foundation.
