Abatement Continues

Abatement Continues . . .

As demolition to the old porch addition continues, note the plastic on the ground to contain the old wood with hazardous lead paint. This plastic sheet when full will be wrapped and placed in the dumpster (photo below).

In the photo below, the dedicated 'hazardous waste' dumpster is lined with plastic to contain the debris. This plastic lining will contain the debris and prevent ground contamination until the waste can be properly disposed of.


Demo and Abatement Completed . . .

The photo below is the "after shot" once the old porch was completely removed. The steps in the center of the photo were at the door to the porch addition. However the steps labeled (S) were hidden under the porch addition and most likely original to the house. Three of the windows were enclosed, the two in white by the City of Uvalde when they owned the museum. The window to the right of the chimney was most likely enclosed at the time the porch was constructed as the roof line bisected the window.
